As we draw to the close of 2020, it’s time we make reflections a regular habit.

I think all companies should make 31st December a mandatory day of self reflection, on the year gone by. Can we allow employees to take a pause from day to day activities and spend time on oneself.

The act of reflection is a powerful tool for self understanding. In almost every self development practice, we hear on the importance of it.

Reflect on moments spent with near and dear ones, the wins and losses, the joys and sorrows, the challenges faced, the lessons learnt, the opportunities missed, the networks built, the work one did, the places one traveled, the journey traversed.

A zillion thoughts comes to the mind on reaching this milestone every year. This year is been rather tougher for all. It has drained us emotionally. For a lot it has been financially and personally draining too, with the losses due to Covid.

It has made us rethink our priorities in life.

I have been practicing reflections for a few years now, and it allows me to gather my thoughts, my emotions. I am in more control of myself.

It helps me let go of things that are not important and I free up the mind space for the ones that matter. I cannot emphasise the importance of reflections enough.
